Proud Schools

Proud Schools was a programme developed by ShoutOut to bring secondary schools on a step by step journey towards a greater acceptance and inclusion of LGBTI+ students and staff. A huge amount of informational material was created that needed to appeal to both students and staff. Teachers would download and print off some of the designed material. To encourage this an identity was designed with a primarily white background. Colour was then introduced with playful sticker images (relating to Queerness). A logo mark was created that used large bold type with a smattering of dots in the pride colours. It was important for the design not to seem too youthful, or too reserved. Overall the design would appeal to teenagers and adults, and welcome all to engage with it.
