I designed two exhibition booklets for DESIGN + VIOLENCE, an exhibition co-produced by MoMa and Science Gallery Dublin. The exhibition asked the following questions:
– What happens when design and violence collide?
– How can an act of creative destruction surprise us with consequences both intended and unintended?
– What are the subtle manifestations of violence in contemporary society?

The design of the booklets was inspired by these questions and themes of the show: collaboration and collision. While still being legible, the title of the booklets – and of the sections – disturb the viewer and force them to interact with the booklet. The alignment of the layout internally seems to deviate from the grid, disturbing the viewer, but additionally making each page different and interesting.
